Monday Odds ‘n’ Ends

How do the folks at your office give kudos? A small bonus? Some comp-time? A shiny new stapler? This is how they do it at Wrigley Field. [Deadspin]

The MLB All-Star rosters were announced Sunday afternoon. It’s not 1998, but Barry Bonds and Ken Griffey Jr. are both starting outfielders in the Midsummer Classic this year. Vote for the last All-Star for each league. I’m pulling for Gorzelanny and Halladay, and neither of them are on my fantasy team. []

Is Matt Leinart the real life Vinnie Chase? We all know his reputation for trying to balance an NFL career and a celebrity social life. He seems to be maturing a bit. If you ask me, it’s about time. As an NFL QB, you have got to keep your life outside the lines under control. After all, look what happened to Roethlisberger. [Los Angeles Times]

There’s a new Voodoo Sabermetrics on Cole Hamels over at The Extrapolator today. On a personal note, he was a fantasy schizo last year for my team. This year I avoided him for that reason and it has really screwed me. [The Extrapolator]

How many of you out there only get Wednesday off this week? Doesn’t that suck? If the 4th fell on Thursday or Tuesday, it’d be a three-day week. Just missed, blast!

  1. If you’re employee of the month at my job, you get a parking pass for a month. Most people want it in the winter, so they don’t have to walk as far in the cold, but I personally liked having it in August, because I don’t like arriving at work looking like John Daly after running a marathon.
